Customized Consulting and Technical Assistance: Student Support Services

Transition Services: LEARN provides comprehensive transition services including vocational and work based assessments, family support in navigating state agencies, and professional development involving all aspects of transition.

Special Education Program Review and Assessment: Customized assessments relating to special education and SRBI supports. Assessments are driven by essential questions crafted by the LEARN and school team. An in-depth evaluation containing data, commendations, and recommendations is presented and shared with teams with an end goal of enhancing student learning. Specific focus can include:

  • Department/program efficiencies
  • Best practice
  • Staffing and scheduling
  • “Big Picture” reviews
  • Program outcomes

IEP Training and Sampling: A continuum of supports for developing high quality IEPs from beginning special educators to seasoned administrators. The training includes practical application, current law, and best practice for writing and interpreting IEPs. This can be done in conjunction with IEP sampling to review the quality of current IEPs in district.

School-Based Related Services: Occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech language therapy, psychological, social work, BCBA through customized contracts.

Customized Professional Development in Specialized Topics: Professional development created specifically for district needs and provided in district. Topics can include:

BCBA Supports: Consultation services provided by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to support school teams with academic and behavioral needs. Services include: comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments and corresponding Behavior Intervention Plans, training in use of behavior principles, AND assist in development of specialized instruction.

Person Centered Planning: Person centered planning is a facilitated 3-hour meeting of friends, family, teachers, service providers and the person with the disability. This relaxed gathering will explore history, strengths, and preferences to establish a vision of the future. Participants are encouraged to share their vision, dreams and nightmares. The team will summarize and determine which items captured will bring a positive future closer in the form of an action plan, which includes a timeline and responsible persons.

Comprehensive Evaluations: Highly qualified teams of providers to conduct a variety of comprehensive evaluations, such as, speech and language, dyslexia, learning disabilities, autism, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psycho-educational, AAC and multi-disciplinary.

Independent Educational Evaluations: Can be provided in a variety of areas. Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech language therapy, Psycho-educational, Functional Behavior Assessment, Achievement, autism, feeding and swallowing,

Customized Program Development and In-District Consultations: A LEARN team of highly qualified specialists including teachers, BCBAs and related service providers support the development of programs for complex populations of students within district. On-going consultation linked to training and data enables districts to provide high quality educational experiences within district.
