Based on the seven-component model developed by Dr. Zigler of Yale, the Family Resource Center at West Broad Street School has provided support for over 18,000 professionals, families and children (Birth to school age) in need of community resources over the past 16 years. The program is located at West Broad Street School which has close ties to the community and to which families can walk. This program collaborates with:
The FRC supports:
- Full-day, year round and part-day child care services for children ages 3-5
- Support and education to parents and children birth-age 3 through personal family visits and informal, weekly play groups
- School-age child care for children ages 5-12 during, before and after school hours, school vacations and summer
- Programming aimed at children in grades 4-6 offering a range of recreational and educational opportunities
- Support and technical assistance to licensed home child care providers
- Resource and referral services to the community
