Transportation

The Transportation department’s goal is the continued expansion of safe and affordable transportation services to accommodate the various needs of our member school districts.  The transportation department provides transportation to many students to and from schools on a daily basis. In addition, the department also provides services such as: community field trips, summer enrichment, after school activities, vocation/work programs, tutoring and alternative education programs.  We are committed to providing the highest level of support and service, with the safety of our students being the number one priority.

Transportation Staff

LEARN drivers safely travel approximately 3800 miles per day, to many schools and programs throughout the state. Training is provided to all van drivers and van aides on a monthly basis to maintain a safe driving record. Some of the training that is provided to drivers and aides are:

At the start of each school year, we send a LEARN Parent/Guardian Handbook out for each student we are assigned to transport. It is important that parents and guardians read and familiarize themselves with this handbook.

All calls are important that come into the department. The office staff will make sure that your calls are directed to the proper person. Cathy Heath, Transportation Coordinator welcomes all calls. She not only enjoys sharing positive feedback to a van driver or van aide that may have been reported to her, she will also follow through with any complaint [Written Complaint Form] that may be made on a van driver or van aide.

The department continues to be proud of their hard work at continuing thier excellent safety record, which is due to the caring and conscientious drivers who provide the services to our students. We will cotninue to look for ways to the continued expansion of safe and affordable transportation services to accommodate the various needs of our member school districts and will continue to strive to meet each students needs.
