CTRA Welcomes Advanced Manufacturing Leader

Connecticut River Academy Welcomes Advanced Manufacturing Program Administrator
Matt Dadona

The Advanced Manufacturing Program at the Connecticut River Academy (CTRA) is critical to helping the state address a growing employment need. With Matthew Dadona now leading the program, CTRA students are on the right track to meet industry demands.

Dadona, of Avon, was hired in August as the Advanced Manufacturing Program Administrator. CTRA, which is run by LEARN and Goodwin College, has themes of advanced manufacturing and environmental science. In his role, Dadona will write and align manufacturing curriculum across all subjects, instruct students and train them to use high tech machinery and tools.

“It has been my absolute pleasure to work at CTRA. The staff is energizing, enthusiastic, and refreshing to work with,” Dadona said. “I am excited to expand the Advanced Manufacturing pathway to create opportunities for students to pursue meaningful careers, and to support partnerships between and among students, families, staff, and businesses.”

CTRA designed its Advanced Manufacturing program with the demands of the job market in mind. While there are a variety of jobs available in manufacturing, Connecticut’s workforce lacks the necessary skills and qualifications to fill those positions.

Dadona will help students build the skills they need to advance to additional educational pathways and successful careers. The program connects directly to Goodwin College’s own Advanced Manufacturing opportunities.

He also brings considerable experience and expertise to CTRA. Dadona taught Technology Education at Windsor High School for six years and was the Windsor Public School District’s Director of Information Technology and Career & Technical Education from 2016-19. He is a graduate of Providence College and earned his master’s and 6th year degree in educational leadership from Central Connecticut State University.

“Matt Dadona brings a wealth of content knowledge, curriculum experience, and enthusiasm that is going to take our Advanced Manufacturing pathway to new heights,” said CTRA Principal Tara Amatrudo. “We couldn't be happier to have him on our team.”
